Norman E. Hendrickson
was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on Jan 18, 1925 and enlisted in the navy in 1943 at the age of 17. He had a very important
role in establishing the 47th Infantry division, which was a formation of the Army National Guard. Although this
division never participated in combat it got very close in the Korean War. He retired as a colonel from the National Guard
and went on to become a Civil Engineering graduate from the University of Minnesota. He is a founder of Short, Elliot, Hendrickson
(SHE, Inc) Civil Engineers. He retired in 1985, however even after his retirement his love for airplanes and flying never
diminished as he flew his plane and volunteered many hours at the Confederate Air Force and the San Diego Aerospace Meuseum.
