    Alexander Papagos was the reigning field marshal and head of the Greek armed forces untill his retirement in 1950. Field Marshal Papagos fought against the faschists and communist regimes in europe since the begining of his millitary career in 1906 as an office. his caristhma and undoubtable leadership ability lead him to climb up the ranks of the greek army. His orginization of the conservative Greek Rally Party provided as a link to greece for the American government and allowed easy communication between the two powers. towards the end of his life General Papagos was appointed prime minister of Greece, serving until his death.
